Fraudsters are already looking to profit from the 2020 calendar year. To protect yourselves personally and your respective businesses, write out the year 2020 on all checks and documents. This will prevent fraudsters from being able to quickly change any dates—for instance, from 1/8/20 to 1/8/2016, by adding “16” or any other calendar year to end of the date.
Again, write out the full 4-digit year—2020.
Happy New Year!
