There are problems, and then there are solutions to problems. Identifying the problem is easy. It is finding the solution that is difficult.
One of the most frustrating things I encounter on a day-to-day basis as a corporate attorney and an entrepreneur is working with someone that identifies an issue or a problem, but nothing more. Or, someone that identifies an issue or a problem and then proposes a half-hearted solution, which essentially passes the work or problem onto someone else.
When you identify an issue or problem, complete the next, more difficult step. Critically think about how to solve the problem. Be prepared to propose a solution or, at a minimum, next steps to eventually find a solution. Come with your recommendation!
