One of my dear friends, Sciobhan, has a superpower. I have witnessed it over and over and I have even felt it firsthand.
Holding a newly lit birthday cake, Sciobhan waltzes across the room, dancing with the cake in her outstretched hands. She starts to sing the usual birthday lyrics; the flame dancing with her, flickering across her face. Sciobhan has a giant smile on her face and her eyes are locked with a pair across the room. The pair of eyes belongs to Eileen. Eileen’s face immediately broke out into a smile, which lit up her face more than the candle on the birthday cake. With all eyes on her, Eileen, Sciobhan’s mother-in-law, felt like the most special birthday girl on her 83rd birthday.
People do not always remember what you said or what you did, but they always remember how you make them feel. Sciobhan, with her genuine spirit, joyful demeanor, and carefree dance moves, can make anyone, on any day, feel special. Now, that, my friends, is a real superpower.
What is your superpower? How do you use your superpower to move the world?
